Siberian Chaga - what is its effect on human health? Siberian Chaga or oblique redhead (lat. Inonotus obliquus) is a perennial wood-decaying mushroom. It contains a spectrum of interesting and valuable substances, of which beta-glucans and antioxidants probably deserve the most attention. In addition to these, chaga also contains a number of minerals (iron, potassium, zinc and manganese), amino acids, B vitamins, betulin, cellulose and others. Thanks to these substances, it has a high immunostimulating effect and is anti-inflammatory. Beta-glucans are natural polysaccharides that are considered one of the best-known natural immunostimulants. In some Eastern countries, they have been used for several years as a medicine to support the immune system. Our body cannot produce them itself, we have to take them in an external form - their rich source is medicinal mushrooms, and chaga is one of them. In addition to supporting the immune system, beta-glucans are involved in the proper functioning of the respiratory tract and help with respiratory diseases. Regular and long-term use even has a preventive effect - it helps prevent diseases of this type. At the same time, it helps to alleviate the adverse symptoms of flu and eases the course of the disease. Thanks to its high antioxidant content, chaga helps to slow down the aging process at the cellular level. Antioxidants protect cells from damage by free radicals. They contribute to reducing cholesterol and high blood pressure, and thus help prevent possible heart diseases. From time to time, each of us is plagued by a health problem.
